What I have learned from my family when I was growing up and as an adult?
I learned to enjoy my life such as shopping, swimming, eating out at restaurants, going on vacations, chatting while eating our meals, and taking pictures. He also enjoys those activities as well.
And I learned to have open communication based on what is happening with him at school and friends. I also share of what I am up to daily. Great thing is that we are both deaf and we communicate easily with ASL (American Sign Language).
Yes, being a single mother, which I emphasize... is a 24/7.
Also, best part is that every time I do work as a SSP and Communication Facilitator while he's at school. It fits perfect with my schedule since I want to be there for him when he returns home from school.
And I have flexibility with time that I am capable to take him to appointments when it's necessary.
At last, I have an opportunity to have a break every time he goes to spend his quality time with his dad.
This is the best part based on what I do daily as a mother. And the important thing is that I continue to do self-care, so I can function well by mentally and physically before he returns home.
