In addition, I learned so much about the heritage of Deaf people way before year of 1880! It was quite amazing to see how much Deaf people succeed with their occupations and positions!
According to Paddy Ladd's book entitled Understanding Deaf Culture: In Search of Deafhood, the definition of Deafhood, which "is a process to decolonize our mind, body, and spirit from colonialism". (Paddy Ladd, 2003)

Call to Action: I strongly encourage for the Deaf people to enroll Deafhood 101 and 102 classes when it is available in cities and states as shown on this page.
Sometimes there are Deafhood workshops available for Allies such as hearing people, who are involved - like advocates in the Deaf community such as parents, siblings, interpreters, teachers for the Deaf, counselors, friends, and so on... who truly understand Deaf people and its culture.
